I want to thank all our families who waited patiently in line to pick up their child. I also want to acknowledge my staff who supported students in the classroom and in the office with reuniting students with their parents.
School will be closed tomorrow Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Students will continue to have digital access to academic resources as part of the District’s Continuity of Learning efforts. More information is available at https://www.lausd.org/learningcontinues.
The District will continue assessing the situation over the next 24 hours while preparing for the possibility of online learning on Friday, Jan. 10. A decision about Friday, Jan. 10 will be announced by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Available resources include the following:
Meal Distribution: From 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 9, Los Angeles Unified will open eight sites (two per region) to provide meals for students. District families may stop by and walk into any of these locations to receive two meals per student. This will only be available for Los Angeles Unified students.
North: Mulholland Middle School, Sepulveda Middle School
East: Hollenbeck Middle School, South Gate High School
South: Fremont High School, Harry Bridges Span School
West: Marina Del Rey Middle School, Sonia Sotomayor Arts and Sciences and Magnet
Mental Health Support Services: Los Angeles Unified students and families in need of mental health support are encouraged to call our Student and Family Wellness Resource Line at 213-241-3840. Support is currently available between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
